Technology is the last variable

Aristotle's name for the highest human good was eudaimonia. English usually gives it as happiness, which misleads, because he was not describing a mood. He meant a whole life going well, and he treated it as the end that every other end is pursued for. Flourishing is the closer word.

Flourishing has a lot of inputs and a company reaches almost none of them. Health, family, meaning, whether the place you live is run by people who are not stealing: none of that is consulting work, and we are not going to pretend it is. What a business can move is the material part. Whether there is more to go around, whether the tools get better, and whether people who want to trade with each other are actually able to. That is the variable we work on.

There are three ways to produce more. More people. More resources. Or more out of the same amount of both. With populations declining and natural resources finite, two of those are closing.

Productivity is what's left, and most of what economists file under productivity growth turns out to be technology once anyone opens the box. That is why our mission is to make sure the technology that already exists actually reaches this region.
